The fourth season of For All Mankind—the series that explores how our history would have panned out if Russia landed on the moon first—has a new trailer that brings us into the 21st century.
The trailer tees up the stakes for the season well—the NASA base on Mars, Happy Valley, has been an ongoing concern since the efforts to establish it in the 1990s (which was also a focal point of the third season of the show). Things, however, are far from simple, especially since humanity discovered a valuable asteroid that everyone from the U.S. to the KGB is interested in controlling.
Here’s the official synopsis for season four:
Rocketing into the new millennium in the eight years since season three, Happy Valley has rapidly expanded its footprint on Mars by turning former foes into partners. Now 2003, the focus of the space program has turned to the capture and mining of extremely valuable, mineral-rich asteroids that could change the future of both Earth and Mars. But simmering tensions between the residents of the now-sprawling international base threaten to undo everything they are working towards.
The ensemble cast returning for the upcoming episodes includes Joel Kinnaman, Wrenn Schmidt, Krys Marshall, Edi Gathegi, Cynthy Wu, and Coral Peña. Season four will also feature new series regulars Toby Kebbell, Tyner Rushing, Daniel Stern, and Svetlana Efremova. Like the seasons before it, the fourth season is helmed by creators and showrunners Ronald D. Moore, Ben Nedivi, and Matt Wolpert.
Season four of For All Mankind premieres on Apple TV+ on November 10, 2024, with episodes dropping weekly through January 12, 2024. The first three seasons are also currently streaming on Apple TV+.
